White Oak Pond, a really
beautiful gem, is a wonderful lake in it's own right. Many people prefer
the quiet and isolated qualities it has over the "big lake." No
motors greater than 7.5 hp are allowed on White Oak Pond, which
makes it perfect for canoes, kayaks, paddle boating etc. We also have great
small mouth bass fishing, and a launch for Squam Lake is only 1/4
mile away. Lake Winnipesauke is only 7 miles away.
No vacation in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire is complete until
you hop aboard the Squam Lakes Science Center's Pontoon Boat for a tour of the
sights around Squam Lake!
Join the Captain as he pilots his 24-passenger craft around
pristine Squam Lake - the 7,000 acre lake that gained national
attention when an Academy Award-winning movie was filmed starring
Henry Fonda, Katharine Hepburn and Jane Fonda. Click
On Golden
Pond for information on this classic.
Explore the lakes with an experienced Science Center naturalist as
they search for wildlife, including the common loon and bald
eagle. You will observe loon behavior and communication first
hand. Learn about the interactions that occur among the lake,
people, and wildlife as you take in the surrounding landscape.
Fall Foliage is a perfect time. The surrounding mountains are
awash with the fall colors.
Relax and witness some of the best
New England has to offer. There is no better way to witness this
unmatched beauty than a boat tour of the Squam Lakes.

Basin Restaurant on route 3 in the center of Holderness, NH. For more information or to make a special
